Our school Governors are a crucial component of our school’s leadership. The Kentmere Academy school governors are there to ensure the standards of our school are the best that they can be. They are also there to represent the views of parents on how to best improve the school. If you would like to speak to the governors or raise any concerns that you may have, please contact the school office and they will pass on your request.

Mrs. Julie Clarke

Chair of Governors

I’m Julie and I have many years of experience as a Governor and Chair of Governors at a variety of schools.

I believe Governors play an important role in helping and supporting schools in the job they do and the challenges they face.
I am Chair of Governors here at Kentmere and I am involved in the school’s service to its children, parents and community.

We are all very dedicated to ensuring that our children receive the very best education and develop their talents and personal skills to enable them to become
happy, productive, respectful members of society. I feel very privileged to be part of that.

My own children are grown up and I served as Chair of Governors at their primary school.
My granddaughter is in KS2 at Kentmere and it is a daily pleasure watching her develop and grow in a loving, inclusive and safe school environment.

Mrs Nicola Howard

Headteacher

“Kentmere Academy is an amazing school.  I have worked in primary education in Rochdale for over twenty years and I have never known a school like it. The staff, pupils and parents all help to create this unique place, which centres on giving every child the belief that they can achieve; encouraging them to aim high and rise to challenges.

I am incredibly proud to be part of the team which was recognised for its commitment as an outstanding education provider by Ofsted in 2018.  Equally I am delighted with the recognition of our amazing school with the Manchester Evening News ‘Primary School of the year’ title and prestigious Pearson’s Silver Award.

Our children are our future and I am so proud of each and every one of our pupils in the way that they respond to their teachers and give their very best every day. I am excited to be part of such a dynamic team which is always looking forward to making Kentmere the very best that it can be.”
