At Kentmere Academy, every pupil is nurtured and encouraged to fulfil their potential – our aim, to stretch the most able and support the least confident, informs and guides all that we do. We want all our pupils to achieve their best both academically and socially. Alongside this we promote an ethos where every child is valued as an individual, to help them to grow into caring and respectful young people who are able to get on well with each other and make a positive contribution to our community.
We encourage you to read our Ofsted Report as it will tell you more about the school and the experience that we provide our pupils. We are just one of a few primary schools in Rochdale to be awarded the highest Ofsted rating.
Our performance and Ofsted status place us as one of the highest performing primary schools in Rochdale.
In 2018/19, 73% of our pupils met expected standards in reading, writing and maths. This compares significantly better than the local authority average of 60% and the England average of 65%. Our average score in reading is 104 compared to the local authority average of 103. Our average score in maths is 108 compared to the local authority average of 104.
We are Outstanding! You can read the Kentmere Academy and Nursery Ofsted Report below.
DownloadAll the children in both Nursery and Reception will follow our Early Years program in order to develop their learning through carefully planned areas of development.
Year 1/2 classes are a combination of students from Year 1 and Year 2. The classes have been mixed in order to support students and encourage those students who are advancing quickly.
Students in Year 3/4 work hard on improving their skills and knowledge of challenging academic tasks within Maths, English, and topic-based subjects. Students flourish in our well-designed environments, developed for adventurous learning.
Year 5/6 are the most senior years in the school. Students work hard on improving their key skills in preparation for their SAT exams. Year 5/6 are expected to lead by example both in academics and behaviour.
