Kentmere Academy Students Achieve Rochdale Borough ‘Mayor for a Day’ Award

Kentmere Academy and Nursery were delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress on Wednesday 30th November.

They took a tour of the school and commented on the amazing displays and the children’s impeccable behaviour.  They ate lunch with some of the pupils from our School Council and representatives from our prefects.

During their visit they also came into our special assembly to announce the winners from the recent Mayor’s competition.  We are delighted to announce that Aliza from Year 1 was chosen for her superb picture of the Mayor. Faseel from Year 5 was selected for his superb writing about what it would be like to be Mayor for the day. Faseel was the overall winner of the competition for the whole of Rochdale and won prestigious tickets to the Mayoral Ball in April. 

We are very proud of all our children’s successes and achievements. Well done!
