"Teaching self-respect, respect for others and respect for the environment."
“A ‘culture of excellence’ lies at the heart of all that happens at Kentmere”. Ofsted 2018
Kentmere Academy and Nursery is an Ofsted Outstanding school with a history of success. I would encourage you to read our Ofsted Report as it will tell you why we are one of just a few primary schools in Rochdale to be awarded Outstanding, the highest rating that can be achieved. Our academic excellence, a tailored curriculum, pastoral care, and extra-curricular programmes are of the highest quality and are the cornerstones of the school. We have clear values that all of the school community respects and demonstrates.
We value academic success, where every pupil is nurtured and encouraged to fulfill their full potential. Our reputation is excellent in the local area and beyond, with Kentmere Academy and Nursery being an increasingly popular choice.
We believe that working in partnership with parents is very important and we encourage you to be involved in the life of the school. Parents are invited into school twice a year to meet with teachers to discuss your child’s progress and all pupils receive a progress report in the summer. We also invite parents to come into school assemblies and other events that take place throughout the year. We have achieved the Leading Parent Partnership Award, endorsing the way in which we work with parents to ensure their child’s success.
Kentmere Academy and Nursery is a partner school of the Watergrove Trust and this gives our pupils access to additional facilities and resources and provides many of our students with progression to a high-quality secondary school. We have autonomy but have the support and advice of a team of staff who are dedicated to the improvement of the non-teaching elements of our school.
“High-quality teaching and learning permeates the school and across an exciting curriculum”. Ofsted 2018
Every pupil is nurtured and encouraged to fulfil their potential – our aim, to stretch the most able and support the least confident, informs and guides all that we do. We want all our pupils to achieve their best both academically and socially, and we feel confident that efforts achieve the highest standards.
“The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development and welfare is outstanding”. Ofsted 2018

At Kentmere Academy we feel that our free extra-curricular clubs are what make our school unique. Pupils are encouraged to choose the clubs and activities they wish to take part in and they can choose as many as they like.
We take pride in our efforts to provide both an active and healthy lifestyle for our children, in addition to our academic efforts. You can learn more about our range of after school clubs here.
Our free Breakfast Club is the perfect start to every pupils day. All children can enjoy a nutritious breakfast, play games, read and socialise with their friends.
